National Integration through Dance and Music : June 20, 2003

The Priyadarshni Academy and Kishinchand Chellaram College held a programme of classical music under the project "National Integration through Dance and Music" on 20th June, 2003 at 7.00 p.m. at Rama Watumull Auditorium, Mumbai 400 020.

Shri Nanik Rupani, Chairman, Priyadarshni Academy welcomed the Guests of Honour - Shri Pankaj Udhas and Shri Talat Aziz, thanking them for their gracious presence at the function.

The programme commenced with Instrumental Jugalbandi by Shri Satish Krishnamurthy and the Hare Krishna Troupe. It was a fitting start with instrumental mastery that echoed the glory of music.

Shri Ranjeet Pathak was the next artiste of the evening. He set the tone with his fine ease of rendition on the Santoor, enthralling the connoisseurs among the audience.

Ms. Sunita Tikare created a fine impression with her mellifluous voice in her Vocal performance with profoundly moving and uniquely creative renderings.

Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts : March 8, 2003

Priyadarshni Academy in co-ordination with Attakkalari Centre for Movement Arts organised a dance performance on March 8, 2003 at Sophia Babha Hall, called Transavatar. Priyadarshni Academy sponsored the venue for this programme in support of culture and art in India. The programme was well appreciated by the art and theatre lovers of Mumbai city.

54th Annual Achiever's Day : 17 February 2003

R. D. National College of Arts & Commerce & W. A. Science College 17 February 2003 organised their 54th Annual Achiever's Day on 17 February 2002-2003 at Bandra, Mumbai. Mr. Nanik Rupani, Chairman Priyadarshni Academy was invited to grace the occasion as Chief Guest for the Annual Prize Distribution ceremony. Mr. Rupani gave his encouragement and support to the Event.

Indian Cancer Society : February 15, 2003

The Indian Cancer Society held a Valentine's Charity Ball at Oberoi Hotel on February 15, 2003. All the proceeds from Ball will go to the Indian Cancer Society to be used towards the detection, prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of poor patients with cancer and to help those poor cancer patients who do have access to the medical care and treatment. Priyadarshni Academy supported the Event with the purchase of 2 tickets for the Event, which was attended by Ms. Gwyneth Alphonso, Senior Executive Officer and Ms. Deepali Tikare, Public Relations Officer.

Literary Awards cum Scholarship Function : January 31, 2003

Priyadarshni Academy organized the 19th Year Literary Awards cum Scholarship Function on Friday, January 31, 2003 at 11.30 a.m. The Chief Guest was Shri Ram Naik, Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Govt. of India and Special Guest was Mr. Suresh Kotak, President, Indian Merchants' Chamber.

Literary Cash Awards of Rs. 25,000/- each will be presented to : Shri Madhup Sharma - Hindi, Shri Babu Biradar - Marathi and Shri Hari Motwani - Sindhi. The Sindhi Cultural Award of Rs. 10,000/- was presented to Ms. Anila Sunder. Appreciation Mementos was presented to Mr. K.P. Chhabira and Mr. Nari Pohani.

More than 35 Scholarships were also presented to deserving students in higher studies in Medicine, Engineering, B.Ed., Fine Arts and to students of Jaihind and K. C. and H. R. Colleges.

Nupur Zankar Academy of Performing Arts : January 14, 2003

Priyadarshni Academy extended its support and co-operation to the cultural programme of Nupur Zankar Academy of Priyadarshni Academy "Sanskriti Mahotsav" that was organized at Nehru Centre on January 14, 2003 to felicitate the artists. The Academy gave a donation of Rs. 5000/- in support of the Event.

B. T. T. C Week Celebrations 2002-2003 : January 14, 2003

Bombay Teachers Training College week celebrations - Teaching Aids and SVPW Exhibitions were held on January 14, 2003 at 10.30 a.m. Mr. Nanik Rupani, Chairman, Priyadarshni Academy graced the Inaugural Function with his presence. Mr. Rupani addressed the gathering and offered the graduating group of teachers his valuable guidance and suggestions to enable them to be motivated to perform better in the succeeding years.

Intercollegiate Sindhi Singing Contest : January 13, 2003

H.R. College took a lead in organizing a Sindhi Singing contest in association with Priyadarshni Academy on the occasion of Lal-Loi-Lohri on January 13, 2003 at H.R. College, to promote Sindhi culture amongst the students. Mr. Nanik Rupani of Priyadarshni Academy the Chief Guest for the programme, inaugurated the competition by clicking the Sindhi software sponsored by him for the college as well as distributed the prizes and trophies that were sponsored by Priyadarshni Academy.

Clean Mumbai Project : November 27, 2002

Clean Mumbai Foundation and BMC, along with Clean Sweep announced the initiation, of the "Lecture Demonstration Demonstrations" on composting in the schools of 'A' Ward in order to bring multiple benefits to our society. Not only awareness increase amongst the schools and college children, but also the garbage collected by the BMC will substantially reduce. Shri Nanik Rupani, Chairman of Priyadarshni Academy who was Guest of Honour at the Function announced a prize of Rs. 50,000/- to be given in three categories to schools / colleges annually, along with the full encouragement of Priyadarshni Academy in this venture.
