Priyadarshni Academy’s 19th Year Literary Awards cum Scholarship Function at the Walchand Hirachand Hall of Indian Merchants’ Chamber on January 31, 2003 was a great success.
The Literary Awards cum Scholarship Function of Priyadarshni Academy is a highly prestigious event as it marks the deep commitment of the Academy to recognize and honour the intellectuals from the Literary fields in the languages of Hindi, Marathi & Sindhi.
We were privileged to have Shri Ram Naik, Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Govt. of India as the Chief Guest on this occasion. Shri Suresh Kotak, President, Indian Merchants’ Chamber & Shri Bob Harilela, Renowned Overseas Indian, as Special Guests. |

Shri Ram Naik, Union Minister of Petroleum & Natural Gas was felicitated with a special Appreciation Memento of Priyadarshni Academy by Shri Nanik Rupani. Floral tributes were presented to our special guests, Shri Bob Harilela, Renowned Overseas Indian, Shri Suresh Kotak, President, Indian Merchants’ Chamber and Shri Kiran Shantaram, Sheriff of Mumbai. Bouquets were also presented to Shri Ashish Vaid, Shri Ramesh Tulsiani and Ms. Indra Gulabani in recognition of their generosity and support to the Academy.
Priyadarshni Academy presented Literary Awards to authors in Hindi, Marathi and Sindhi consisting of a cash award of Rs. 25,000/- each & a Trophy at the hands of Honourable Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, Shri Ram Naik.
'Shri Kisharam Lekhraj Rupani Memorial Award' for Hindi Literature was presented to Shri Madhup Sharma for his book, "Andhere Ujale"
The Literary Award for Marathi Literature was presented to Shri Babu Biradar for his book "Anthh Purush". |

The Prof. Ram Panjwani Memorial Literary Award for Sindhi Literature was presented to Shri Hari Motwani for his book "Travelauge", (Matia Manjh Mahee).
The Academy presented a Trophy and Cash prize of Rs.10,000/- to Ms. Anila Sunder for promotion of Sindhi Art & Culture through the medium of Classical Dance.
Shri Nanik Rupani, Chairman, Priyadarshni Academy was pleased to present Appreciation Mementos to Shri K.P. Chhabria, Managing Director, Finolex Group of Companies and Shri Nari Pohani, Renowned Overseas Indian for services rendered to the Institution over the years on this occasion.
The Awardees stated their appreciation to Priyadarshni Academy for this honour bestowed on them.
Priyadarshni Academy also encourages and assists outstanding students to excel in their fields of education with Scholarship of Rs.10,000/- each in the fields of Engineering, Medical, Medical Research, B.Ed. and Information Technology, Fine Arts etc. that were presented at the function. |

Shri Ram Naik, Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas, in his speech recognised the efforts of Priyadarshni Academy in honouring literature in the fields of Hindi, Marathi and Sindhi languages and thereby sustaining and promoting the growth of these languages in India. He also praised the Academy in giving Scholarships to outstanding students in their studies.
Shri Ram Naik, Union Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas stated that it was a pleasure for him to be associated with Priyadarshni Academy which is an organization that is focussed in its efforts to give back to society something in return for all that they have received.
Shri Bob Harilela, Renowned Overseas Indian, Shri Suresh Kotak, President, Indian Merchants’ Chambers, also spoke a few words in appreciation of the Literary Awards cum Scholarship Function and the work that is being done by Priyadarshni Academy towards the betterment of society.
