ALL MUMBAI LAUGHTER COMPETITION

Priyadarshni Laughter Club International affiliated to Priyadarshni Academy organised the All Mumbai Laughter Competition at Priyadarshni Park, Nepeansea Road on November 16, 2003 at 6.45 a.m. The event was conceptualised and compered by Mr. Kishore Kuvavala, Chairman of the Priyadarshni Laughter Club International.

The event was graced by Shri Nana Chudasama, Former Sheriff of Mumbai as Chief Guest and Shri Ajit Wadekar, Former Captain, Indian Cricket Team as Guest of Honour.   The Special Guests at the Event were

Shri B. A. Desai, Chairman, Malabar Hill Citizens Forum and Shri Nanik Rupani, Chairman, Priyadarshni Academy.

The Laughter Competition received tremendous response from 18 Laughter Clubs from all over Mumbai and the suburbs to compete in demonstrating their skill and effectiveness of the Laughter exercises and sequences. 5 Schools in South Mumbai and Schools for physically and mentally challenged also attended the event.

The event was attended by more that 300 people and it was extensively covered by the electronic and print media.

The Clubs demonstrated various techniques of laughters such as Phuljadi, Ladies Special Train, Kite Flying & Hearty laughter etc. Each one was a unique form of laughter exercise that was practiced on a daily basis by the members of that club.

The schools had come prepared with a "Slogan on Health and Laughter" and gave demonstrations of spontaneous laughter by the children.

Each club and school was presented with an Appreciation Memento for their participation.


The Winning Clubs of the Laughter Competition were :
1st Prize - Sai Baba Nagar, Borivali.
2nd Prize - Sion Jain Society, Sion.

And the Winning Schools of the Laughter Competition were :
1st Prize - Lady Ratanbhai and Sir Mathuradas V. Sanji Academy.
2nd Prize - Mahalaxmi School.

 

Mr. Kishore Kuvavala, Chairman, Priyadarshni Laughter Club International welcomed the distinguished guests and presented them with floral tribute and memento.

Shri Nana Chudasama, Former Sheriff of Mumbai, Chief Guest addressed the gathering and received a spontaneous response of laugher and cheers when he created the slogan "Keep Laughing, Laughter Leads Life".

Shri Ajit Wadekar, Former Captain, Indian Cricket Team, Guest of Honour

congratulated the winners of the Laughter Competition and said that laughter can be an excellent tool in making the cricketers laugh and be happy.
 

Mr. Niranjan Hiranandani, Vice Chairman, Priyadarshni Academy and Mr. B. A. Desai, Special Guest also commended the Priyadarshni Laughter Competition on promoting health and well-being to all the citizens of Mumbai and shared spontaneous laughter with the crowd.

The occasion was a unique event as Laughter brought together the old and the young in ensuring that well-being of every citizen of our city of Mumbai.
